Alen BreatheSmart FLEX Air Purifier Review

Now, Alen is one of the best air purifier manufacturers on the market. Every single air purifier we’ve tested has been great so far. They put a lot of energy towards manufacturing a powerful and efficient Air Purifier with multiple filtration systems, each one making it easy for your air to be cleaned thoroughly and effectively. Aesthetically, Alen has made some of the most beautiful Air Purifiers to date, and the quality of their design, and its aesthetics is another factor that sets Alen apart from their competitors.

We’re going to be looking at all of that, so let’s begin!

Features

The first thing you’re going to notice is that the design of the Alen BreatheSmart FLEX is very minimalist, very simple, and yet very pleasing, on an aesthetic level.

When it comes to the color palette, there are fourteen different color choices, each one is rather simple, but that goes with the minimalist design style of the air purifier. And due to this simple design style, you can put this air purifier anywhere, and it will mesh with whatever room/space you put it in.

Alen BreatheSmart FLEX Air Purifier

Using this air purifier, you can purify a space that is up to 700 square feet. Anything more than that, and the air purifier will still work, but just not as well as it would in a room that is 700 square feet, or smaller than that.

During a single-hour, that entire 700 square-feet space will be cleaned twice. You can adjust the speed and power of the purification process, by pressing a button on the front. There are four different fan speed settings.

On the lowest fan speed setting, you won’t be able to hear the purifier at all. Instead, you can fall asleep with it on, and you won’t even notice that it is still running. This is due to the “WhisperMax” technology that Alen has integrated into its newest air purifiers.

On the highest fan speed setting, there will be more noise, obviously, but the noise produced will be a little different. A sound frequency known as “pink noise” will be emitted – this is a much lower tone than white noise – and while it is louder than the faint whisper that is emitted while on the lowest fan speed setting, the tone itself is relaxing and can actually make it easier for you to fall asleep.

Ultimately, regardless of the amount of sound being produced, you won’t have any problems when it comes to sleeping, while the air purifier is running.

Now, when it comes to the filtration and purification itself, the Alen BreatheSmart FLEX truly excels!

When you purchase this purifier, you have four different choices, when it comes to the type of filtration system you use.

The first is the standard “HEPA Pure” filtration system. This is a multi-layer filtration system that is designed to get rid of dust, pollen, and allergens. It can get rid of other particles, as well, but those three types of particles are its specialty.

Then, you have the “HEPA Silver” filtration system, which is, arguably, the most effective filtration system that Alen has created. It consists of four different filters.

First, you have a Pre-Filter, which captures all of the big particles, such as pet hair. That way, they don’t clog the next stage of filtration.

Second, you have the Silver Filter, and this is a filter that traps all of the mold spores and bacteria that are in your air, and then it kills those mold spores and bacteria.

Third, is the HEPA Pure filter, which gets rid of all of the allergens that are in your air, as well as dust and pollen.

Finally, there is the Carbon Layer, and this final stage of the filtration system kills all of the odors and stenches that those particles produce.

There are two other filtration systems that you can purchase. The “HEPA Fresh Plus”, which is a more elaborate version of the Carbon Layer found in the HEPA Silver filtration system. And then, there is the HEPA Odocell, which is designed for pet odors.

If you have a large space you want to remove irritants from, We recommend the Airmega 400. All of Coway air purifiers do an excellent job of attacking indoor pollutants, and we highly recommend any of them.
The Levoit Vista 200 air purifier has some strong suits, but in our opinion it falls short of carving out a meaningful niche for itself. Its ideal use would be in a small bedroom occupied by someone who is sensitive to noise.
With high end air cleaning performance, the Honeywell HPA300 is the perfect combination of power and finesse. It cleared airborne particulates out of a smokey testing room faster than most air purifiers.
