In this article, we’re looking at the Dolphin Nautilus, the Dolphin Nautilus CC, and the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus. Each one of these devices is a robotic pool cleaner – as you can see, the name “Nautilus” is quite fitting.
Robotic pool cleaners are a fairly modern invention. Instead of having to clean the dirt, debris and gunk found on the surface of your pool by hand; you can use one of these machines to do it for you. Often, too, they do a better job.
We’re looking at what a robotic pool cleaner is, and which one of these three models is best suited for your purposes.
The Dolphin Nautilus is a device built around the idea of convenience. This is a simple device that is incredibly easy to use. With the press of a single button, you can turn on the device, and it will begin to clean your pool.
Now, this device works best with pools that are, at the very maximum, fifty-feet long. If your pool is bigger than that – most of the really big swimming pools are – then you’ll either need a few robotic pool cleaners or a different solution, because, again, this isn’t meant for really big swimming pools.
Now, cleaning a pool that is fifty feet in diameter will only take three hours. This is because of the dual-scrubbing brushes that the Dolphin Nautilus has, enabling it to more effectively remove dirt and debris from the walls and floors of your pool.
Along with that, the device has something known as “CleverClean” which is a system of navigation that uses advanced algorithms to navigate your pool, enabling it to clean the entirety of your swimming pool more effectively.
There are two filters the Dolphin Nautilus uses. A “Fine Filter” and an “Ultra-Fine Filter”. These two filters take what is in the water – such as leaves and chunks of dirt and mud, for example – and they filter it out, leaving the water as pure as it’s ever been.
Dolphin Nautilus CC
In many ways, the Dolphin Nautilus CC is almost the same product as the standard Dolphin Nautilus. However, it does come with three small features that do make for a much more efficient, and much more convenient, product.
First off, you have the option to create a schedule for the device. You have three settings to choose from. One, you can set it to clean every day – if you use your pool every day, this is a good choice. Two, you can set it to clean every other day. Three, you can set it to clean every third day. While this isn’t a particularly broad set of options, it is a very convenient addition.
Second, you have a new Active Brushing system that is two times as powerful as the Dolphin Nautilus. Depending on just how dirty your swimming pool gets, this may be a very useful feature.

Third, you have the addition of a top-load filtration system that allows you to effortlessly pull out the filters, from up top, wash them off and clean them.
However, one thing that must be mentioned is that instead of being able to clean pools with a diameter of up to fifty feet, you can only clean pools with a maximum diameter of thirty-three feet, with the Dolphin Nautilus CC.
Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus
Just like the standard Dolphin Nautilus, you can clean swimming pools up to fifty feet, but with this device, it only takes two hours, instead of three.
However, that’s the only notable difference between the Dolphin Nautilus CC and the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus. This one has all of the extra advantages and features that the Dolphin Nautilus CC has mixed with the ability to clean pools that are up to fifty feet in diameter, within two hours.
Just like the Dolphin Nautilus CC, you have a convenient top-load filtration system, the inclusion of the Active Brushing system, along with the three scheduling options.
Other than that, though, the Dolphin Nautilus CC and the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus are, more or less, the same product. There are very few distinct differences, and so the only real reason you should choose to purchase this one, over the Dolphin Nautilus CC, is if your swimming pool is more than thirty-three feet in diameter.

Ultimately, though, the Dolphin Nautilus has many of the same features – even though it does lack the same scrubbing capabilities, the more convenient filtering, and the scheduling system – and if the extra features are of no importance, then that may be the best choice for you.
