EAST OAK Patio Heater Review

You know those chic restaurants with patio dining? The ones that are luxe and fabulous and are generally known for their outdoor seating, accompanied by amazing views of some sort? Well, somewhere along the line, they realized that the outdoor dining option typically didn’t go over too well in the colder weather. I mean, would you want to sit on the patio in freezing temperatures while trying to enjoy that balsamic-glazed artichoke?? I think not.

So, patio heaters came into play. Now why these always look so darned attractive is a mystery unto itself, but I’m thinking the whole “I’m freezing cold and OH LOOK – WARMTH!!” thing comes into play. And folks, when you’re cold but want to still enjoy the experience of sidewalk dining, patio heaters are the solution. Feel free to add one to your own backyard, too! Be sure to include a cover charge when your neighbors “just happen” to stop by.

Efficiency and safety
This heater from East Oak is 50,000 BTU, which means it can heat up to 18 feet away (in diameter) from it’s position. And because of it’s immense heat-giving properties, the heater has an anti-tilt, flame-out safety system. If the unit is tilted, the gas will shut off as a safety precaution. It also comes with 3 stabilizing arms that should be anchored to the ground, in case of a wind gust. Or a wildly out-of-control child, who honestly should be escorted off the patio, away from the heater….along with their parents.

The heating area is dual-covered in stainless steel mesh, making it safer and more durable than the standard single-layer covered heaters, and it’s also ETL certified!

Assembly and overall convenience
The East Oak patio heater comes partially assembled, and customers can usually complete assembly in around 40 minutes. How-to assemble videos are easy to find on the product’s webpages! The unit includes 2 wheels to move the heater wherever it needs to be – just keep it outdoors, as it’s not approved for indoor use. There’s also a one-touch ignition system, so turning it on and off is a snap!
The heater cover can also double over as a table area to put drinks, snacks, or whatever you need to pry from your freezing cold hands for a few minutes. It’s even phone safe! For the love of Mike, put the phone down once in a while, folks.

Customization
This heater features a heat control knob, so that you can decide just how toasty you want your Aunt Karen to get. And thus, just how long she gets to stay! No judgment, we’ve all been there.

Should I buy one?
The East Oak patio heater would be a great pick for someone with a large outdoor area that they’d like to utilize in colder weather without turning their guests into snowmen/women/people. This would also include restaurant owners with patio spaces, with or without jaw-dropping views. Although technically, the view of the gas station price sign across the street? Very jaw-dropping these days.

The biggest complaints in the online reviews? The assembly can take too long, the unit arrived damaged (and returns are next to impossible), and the ignition button didn’t work for everyone. It’s important to note that East Oak includes a 3-year warranty with each patio heater, so be sure to have that handy, just in case!
