Waterproofing
The IP certification of devices refers to the level of protection against liquids or solid objects. Both of these versions of Jabra earbuds have IP certification. However, they do differ in their degree of protection against water.
The Jabra Elite 4 Active comes certified with IP57, meaning it’s dust resistant and can be put in up to one meter of water for 30 minutes. The Jabra Elite 85t is certified with IPX4, indicating that it isn’t rated in terms of dust protection but is protected against water splashing from any direction. We can see, therefore, that both are water or sweat-resistant but should not be used while swimming.
