McCulloch MC1375 vs. McCulloch MC1385: Canister Steam Systems

The McCulloch Motors Corporation has been in business since the year 1943. In the beginning, they were mostly known for manufacturing power tools, such as chainsaws. However, in more recent years, they have diversified their product output, and are now producing all kinds of different products, many of which still fall under the same umbrella category, but these other products have different attributes, in comparison to the products that they are known for, and this means that their applications are a little different.

In recent years, canister steam systems have become very popular. This is because they offer a very efficient and accessible way to clean your floors, using the power of steam. Steam systems are incredibly powerful, and if you have a floor that is covered in dirt and grime, then they are one of the best solutions to that problem.

Today, we’re going to be looking at two of the best steam systems that McCulloch has produced. The McCulloch MC1375, and the McCulloch MC1385. Both of these steam systems are excellent and quite similar. But, there are a number of differences that separate them from one another.

We’re going to be looking at the different features and attributes that these canister steam systems possess, and by the end of this guide, you will know which one of these canister steam systems is the best one for you!

What Does The McCulloch MC1375 Offer?

Weighing just 10.8 pounds, for a canister steam system, the McCulloch MC1375 is very lightweight. Moving it around isn’t going to be a particularly challenging endeavor, but, along with this, it’s also quite small. When you combine the lack of heft with the small form-factor, you get a steam system that is mobile, and this makes it easy for you to move it around into small spaces, and to clean those smaller spaces, rather than being confined to only the larger and more open spaces.

As for the water tank, the water tank can hold 48 ounces of water, and this amount of water, is a pretty decent amount, for a water tank. And then, once you have filled up this water tank, all of the water tanks will be heated up in less than twelve minutes – usually around ten minutes. The temperature this water is heated to a temperature that is usually over 200 degrees, Fahrenheit. This is an intense temperature, and by using this intense temperature, it’s easy to remove the stains and the gunk that have attached themselves to your floors and have been there for a longer period.

From this 48 ounces of water and twelve minutes of heating time, you will have steam for a total of ninety minutes, and this is a pretty long time, especially when you consider the small size of this steam system.

As you are cleaning your floors, there is a small dial that you can use, and this dial is located right on top of the steam system. By using this dial, you can adjust the flow of the steam. If you need a lot of steam for a more intense stain or piece of grime, you can adjust the dial to accommodate that. If you need less steam, then you can adjust the dial.

Right by the dial, there is a pressure meter, and this pressure meter consists of four bars. The fourth bar is the maximum amount of pressure, and with this amount of pressure, you will have the easiest time cleaning stains and removing gunk and grime from your floor.

For you to use this steam system, all of the streams flow through a hose. Now, this hose is ten feet long, so you have a great deal of reach with this hose. But, more importantly, you can connect various accessories to this hose, as well, which gives you more versatility when cleaning.

You can attach the floor mop attachment. This works well on all flooring surfaces, and it can cover a larger area in a relatively short period. Then, there is an attachable utility brush, which is smaller, making it great for removing stains on things like grills, patio decks, and even the exterior of cars and other vehicles. You can also attach scrub pads to this brush. And there are plenty of other attachments to use, as well.

Ultimately, the McCulloch MC1375 is an excellent canister steam system that is affordable, versatile, and efficient!

What Does The McCulloch MC1385 Offer?

Here’s the thing about the McCulloch MC1385, it doesn’t offer that much, in the way of different features. However, it does improve upon, and adjust, some of the basic features that the McCulloch MC1385 possesses.

For one thing, the water tank is now 64 ounces, and by adding an extra 16 ounces, you now have two hours of steam, rather than just ninety minutes. So, you can use the steam cleaner for a longer period.

However, this does mean that it takes a little bit longer for the steam to fully heat up. It isn’t a significant difference, and it does tend to vary, but there is still a small time difference since more steam is being heated.

Another notable difference is the fact that the McCulloch MC1385 has a squeegee brush attachment, which is not something that the McCulloch MC1375 offers. This makes it very easy to steam clean glass surfaces, such as mirrors, as well as windows, and even glass coffee tables.

Ultimately, if you want the extra features and a product that offers slightly more versatility – due to the squeegee brush attachment – then this is a fantastic choice! Be warned, though. It is a bit more expensive, but not by a lot.
