Today, we are taking a look at the newest robot vacuum that Eufy has put out. This is the Eufy Boost IQ RoboVac 35C. In this quick buying guide, you’re going to learn all about the Eufy Boost IQ RoboVac 35C. You’re going to learn about the different features and attributes that Eufy has given the 35C, and you are also going to learn who this vacuum is really meant for, and whether or not that person is you.
Now, let’s dive right into it.
Features
One of the most amazing things about a robot vacuum is the fact that there is no need for you to control/operate the vacuum itself manually, and instead, the vacuum does all of the cleaning on its own.
Sure, you do need to set up a schedule for the vacuum or to manually turn it on when you want the vacuum to begin cleaning, and you do need to empty the dustbin, but that’s it. Everything else is completely hands-free, and that is what makes robot vacuums so special, and that is why they continue to be some of the most popular and successful vacuums on the market.
Eufy understands this fact very well, and they have developed a variety of unique features that are aligned with this main idea. One of these features is the “Boost IQ” technology that Eufy has integrated into the RoboVac 35C.
So, what is Boost IQ?
Boost IQ is a feature that enables the vacuum to change its suction speed when it encounters a surface that is more thick, or less thick, then the surface it was previously on. To give you a quick example, when the vacuum is moving on a carpeted surface, it will need to use a higher suction speed, because the dirt, dust, and debris is lodged into the carpet. But, when it moves onto a hardwood floor, to name just one example, it will lower the suction speed, because it doesn’t need as much.
However, this feature also works with certain spots on your flooring, as well. For example, the Eufy Boost IQ RoboVac 35C might be vacuuming, and it encounters a spot that is really dirty, it will increase its suction speed, and then decrease the speed, once it is done cleaning that spot.
Due to the presence of Boost IQ technology, the cleaning process is much more efficient, and you don’t have to manually change the settings whenever there is a dirtier or thicker part of your flooring that needs to be cleaned. And, the vacuum will revert back to the normal suction speed, once it has cleaned the dirty spot. So, your battery life will be a bit longer, as well.
Suction
The suction speed of the Eufy Boost IQ RoboVac 35C is a maximum of 1500Pa. For a robot vacuum, this is actually a really good speed. Now, it isn’t as powerful as an upright vacuum, or a Canister Vacuum, but for cleaning on hard floors, as well as soft floors, it will work very well. One thing to keep in mind is that for denser carpets, the suction may not work as well, simply because it is much easier for dirt, dust, and debris to become lodged deep into the carpet. This isn’t to say that it won’t be able to clean those types of surfaces at all, but it won’t work nearly as well as it would on a much harder floor surface.
Combined with the 1500Pa suction power is a thorough and very effective brush system. This system is known as a “3-Point Cleaning System”, because it consists of three individual brushes, placed on the bottom of the vacuum, that are designed to maximize the cleaning ability of this robot vacuum.
On the front of the device, there is the main brush roll. Most of the time, this will be the brush roll that is used, and it is definitely the strongest of the three brushes. You’ll be using this one to gather up most of the dirt, dust, and debris.
Behind the main brushroll, there are two smaller brushes, on the sides. These brushes are smaller, and they are known as “spinning brushes”, because they spin, while the vacuum is cleaning.
Filtration
When all three of these brushes are being used, it allows the dirt, dust, and debris to be gathered up and then to be swept into the suction pathway of the vacuum, which makes it very easy for the 35C to suck everything up, dragging everything through the filtration mechanisms that are in place.
The filtration system consists of three individual filters, one of which is a dual-filter, and the other of which is a single filter. When dirt, dust, and debris is flowing through the vacuum, it will first pass through a dual-layer filter. These two filters are designed to get rid of the bigger particles, and then after they’ve passed through that dual-layer filter, they flow through the final filter, which is designed to eradicate all of the really small particles, such as allergens. If you have allergies, a filter like this is great, because it can easily get rid of the allergens in your air and on the ground, as well as germs and other contaminants.
Finally, once everything has gone through that filtration system, it flows into the dustbin. Now, this dustbin is quite large for a robot vacuum. It can hold a total of 0.6 liters of material, which is a lot. One of the reasons why this is such an advantage is because it ensures that you don’t need to empty the dustbin constantly, and instead, you can continue to vacuum for a much longer period of time.
Boundary Strips
Eufy has integrated a very popular feature of theirs into this robot vacuum. With the other Eufy models, they began to integrate these things known as “Boundary Strips”. Boundary Strips are these electronic strips that you can lay around certain areas, and these strips emit a signal that tells the 35C to not go past them. With the Eufy Boost IQ RoboVac 35C, this feature has been added, and it makes things very convenient because you can force the vacuum to thoroughly clean a specific room or space, rather than having it move around, seemingly at random.
For example, if you want to clean a bedroom, and this bedroom doesn’t have a door that will tell the robot vacuum to stay within the space, you can lay a boundary strip right in the frame of the door, and it will detect that strip, and then stay within that space, for as long as you want it to, and it will thoroughly clean the entirety of your bedroom. In terms of convenience, it really doesn’t get any better than this.
As for the other sensors, they are quite good. Nothing particularly advanced, but they will detect if there are objects in the way, and if there are, they will go around those objects, in order to avoid collisions and accidents.
Smart Functions
The last thing to mention is that the Eufy Boost IQ RoboVac 35C supports both smartphones and Smart Home devices. In terms of Smart Home devices, you can use both Google Home, and Amazon Echo, to control the vacuum. Simply say whatever voice command you need, and then this data is fed right into the vacuum, and it will execute your command. If you own one of those Smart Home devices, then this is an incredibly useful feature.
Same goes for the smartphone functionality. Using the EufyHome app, you can create custom schedules for the vacuum, turn it on – even while you’re at work – adjust the cleaning settings and the speed of the suction, among many other things. There is also a feature known as “Find My Robot” that you can activate using your smartphone, as well as your Smart Home device. This feature tells the vacuum to emit a sound, and by following this sound, you’ll be able to find the device, which makes this a very useful feature, if you can’t actually find the robot vacuum.
