As brands go, Imperium isn’t one of the most popular. They’ve only manufactured a few products, over the years. One of which is, of course, the Imperium CV300 Central Vacuum Unit.

Today, we’re going to be looking at this particular central vacuum unit. You’ll learn what it does, what kinds of attributes it has, the flaws it possesses, and who, exactly, it’s for.

Review of the Imperium CV300 Central Vacuum Power Unit

Let’s go over what, exactly, a central vacuum unit is, before we do that…

Essentially, a central vacuum power unit is like a power generator that is used for a central vacuum. And a central vacuum is a type of vacuum that remains stationed in, say, a basement, garage or behind a wall. It provides a great deal of power and allows for heavy-duty vacuuming to take place. Of course, due to the immobility, it’s less maneuverable than a regular vacuum.

What Does The Imperium CV300 Central Vacuum Power Unit Give You?

One of the great things about central vacuum power units is the fact that they are designed to work with BIG spaces. In this case, the Imperium CV300 has a Maximum Area Coverage – or MAC, for short – of 7,500 square feet. But, according to Imperium, the ideal size is 6000 square feet.

As you can imagine, since it covers so much space, it has a very powerful motor. And it does, but before we get into the motor, we need to mention that this is a quiet central vacuum power unit. It only generates 58 decibels of noise. That’s the same amount of noise most quiet vacuums generate, and less noise than most upright vacuums generate!

The motor itself is more than sufficient for cleaning anything, anything at all. It has 740 air watts, which is a lot for any vacuum. And, it can cover 138 cubic feet per minute – CFM, for short – which means that cleaning is a speedy and efficient process. Ametek-Lamb has manufactured the motor, and they are considered one of the greatest motor manufacturers on the market.

See, it doesn’t matter what kind of surface or debris you are cleaning. This central vacuum power unit works with it all, and it can thoroughly and effectively clean anything at all. Whether it’s carpeting, a thick oriental rug, or hard flooring; it can be cleaned, and it can be cleaned well.

As for the dirt capacity, it can hold up to 6.25 gallons of dirt, dust, and debris, at any one time. If we’re going by liters, that is just under 24-liters. So, you can hold quite a bit of material in the dirt tank.

The Imperium CV300 comes with paper bags that you can use to hold all of this stuff. There are also HEPA bags that are available, but, unfortunately, they don’t come with the machine. Removing these bags is a simple process, and replacing them is equally as simple.

Durability is a big factor here, too. The entire machine is made of galvannealed steel. This type of steel is especially useful because it’s designed never to rust, degrade or corrode. Meaning that this central vacuum unit will last a very long time, and it can withstand just about anything, including heavy objects falling on top of it.

Installation is an easy process, even though it doesn’t come with a built-in port for a direct installation. Instead, it comes with an inlet, which works just as well.

Most people can install the Imperium CV300 in just an hour or two. Sometimes even less than that. And this is due to the simplicity of the installation process, as well as the overall design of the vacuum.

Now, no machine is perfect, and the Imperium CV300 is no exception to that rule. Although it must be said, it does get very close!

The biggest flaw is that it doesn’t come with a built-in port. This doesn’t affect things too much, but it can be a small annoyance.

The other flaw is that the bags can be a bit expensive, in the long-term. But, as a filtration method, the bags are definitely some of the best. And, they are easy to set up and remove.

In the end, the Imperium CV300 is everything a good central vacuum power unit should be. You have the durability that you need, as well as the efficiency and ease-of-use.

If you are in need of something that can deliver all of those qualities, and you aren’t afraid to spend some money, then this is the perfect central vacuum power unit for you!
