Shark AI Ultra vs Roomba J7+: At First Glance

While at first glance the two robot vacuums do appear quite similar, with both products coming in a matte black color. They are also sleek in appearance with a flat back to easily place up against any wall. They both offer a compatible app for setting up and managing your machine for a personalized cleaning of your home.

With similar smart tech features and with looks to complement any home’s aesthetic, how can we choose? Well don’t you be fooled by their similar appearances; they both offer their own set of unique strengths and weaknesses.

Let The Battle Commence

First up, weighing in at one pound and with a cleaning path width of ten inches, we have the Shark AI. This robot, while small, offers incredible suction power with a self-cleaning brush roll that eliminates that never-ending supply of pet hair on your floors. No more rushing home to sweep up pet hair before your guests arrive or using a lint roller on the rugs (we have all been there).

It features precision home mapping so it can clean anytime sun up or down all while avoiding objects and furniture in your home. The self-emptying bagless feature is a major plus for any of us who do not want to waste our hard-earned money on vacuum bag replacements.

The self-emptying base holds two months of dirt, saving us tons of valuable time. Say goodbye to emptying your vacuum after every use. Wrapping it up with my favorite feature of the Shark Ai, the HEPA filter traps ninety-nine percent of dust, saving your lungs from irritation and freeing up some dusting chore days.

iRobot Roomba j7+

Next, up is the iRobot Roomba j7+ weighing in at a hefty seven and a half pounds with a cleaning path width of seven inches. This robot is less compact than its competitor but makes up for it with its one-of-a-kind hardwood seamlessly carpet cleaning feature.

For the first time, we are seeing a robot vacuum mop duo where the mop raises itself to the top of the machine before moving onto the carpet. This bonus feature will save your carpets from being accidentally soaked.

The Roomba also offers a self-cleaning system with a strong effective suction but is not bagless. So, you will have those reoccurring bag costs I mentioned earlier. Another thing you might want to consider when it comes to this vacuum is it comes with a standard filter versus the Shark Ai’s HEPA filter.

What The Fans Are Saying

With both products offering such great specs, it was time to take a look at what some of these robot product users were saying. What are they thrilled with and what is making them regret their purchase? Because when in doubt just leave it to a good review to help you figure it out.

A lot of people were excited to welcome the Shark AI into their homes. They were astonished by how quiet this vacuum actually is and its impressive ability to map out their home efficiently.

They were beaming with joy about the suction level changers capability and the Ultra Clean option which allows you to go over every spot twice starting from the opposite direction. A few Shark AI enthusiastic people even went as far as to say that the vacuum user face was easier to set up than that of its competitor, the iRobot.

Roomba j7+ product users however seem to be undecided on their hate or love for their new vacuum. They are raving about its tremendously effective suction power and next-level progressive built-in camera. They are delighted with the well-rounded app features like maintenance alerts and time-to-empty reminders.

However, I think it’s worth noting that there were several mentions of how loud the machine can be. Particularly in reference to when it is emptying the canister. That doesn’t seem to change any of the buyer’s ratings or opinions of the product though. The majority were saying that they are convinced the sound is that loud because it’s doing a thorough canister cleaning.

The Winner Is…

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a tie! While both robot vacuums have their strengths and weaknesses, I think it really just comes down to the question of which one is the best match for your home cleaning needs.

iRobot Roomba j7+ Review

If you’re looking for a compact vacuum with high suction power, low noise level, a great filter, and an incredible pet hair eliminator. You will most likely prefer the Shark AI Ultra AV2610WA, as its HEPA filter will provide dust-free air and the brush roll can easily rid your floors of that pesky pet hair. All while you are relaxing and enjoying a little peace and quiet.

Shark AI Ultra vs Roomba J7+ Final Words

With a high-tech built-in camera and app alerts for when you’re away from home. I can see why a loud noise wasn’t enough to set this product far behind the rest.
