Using your shark ion robot app is easy. Shark is always working to enhance your cleaning experience. Download the app to stay up to date with every improvement. Control your robot from home or away; you can command your robot to clean pause or return to the dock from the control screen.
Plus you can also adjust the cleaning power, scheduling, and create custom cleaning schedules for your robot on the schedule screen. You can set a unique cleaning schedule for each day of the week, then let your robot do all the work. On the history page, you can view your robots past 30 days of activity. How to set up the Shark ION Robot app
Setting up your shark ion robot app is easy. First, ensure your robot is set up on its dock and powered on. Also, make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi. Next, open the shark ion robot app on your phone and press the plus symbol to add a new robot. Press and hold both the dock and Max buttons until you hear the beep. The Wi-Fi light will begin to blink on your robot. Next, connect your device to the robot Wi-Fi network, it will automatically return to the app.
Then, select your home Wi-Fi network from the list displayed by the app. Enter your password and if the connection fails, try again. Pay special attention to the Wi-Fi password spelling. When your connection is achieved, you will be prompted to name and register your shark ion robot. To maintain optimal cleaning performance, empty the dustbin on your shark ion robot after each cleaning and clean the filters weekly. To remove the dustbin, press the dustbin removal button located at the rear of the robot. Then empty the dustbin by pressing and holding the release button while lifting the lid. If any soft debris like hair remains, remove it from the anti-tangle comb.
To remove the filter, release it from the dustbin by using the pull tabs. Then simply tap the filter clean to remove trapped dust and debris before washing the dustbin, remove the filter. Be sure not to rinse the filter. Dry the dustbin completely before inserting into your robot. Reinsert the dustbin before using the shark ION robot R85. Remember, the robot cannot operate with a dustbin removed.
Shark ION Robot’s side brushes
Turn off power before performing any maintenance. The Shark ION robot has side brushes, the main brush roll and a brush roll door that may require cleaning. Frequently check the side brushes on your Shark R85. When side brushes are visibly worn, you can replace them. To remove a side brush for cleaning or replacement, pull it off the post by its bristles.
To install side brushes, press brushes down onto the pegs, until they click into place.
The main brush roll is self-cleaning, but may still require periodic maintenance. Remove the brush roll door by pressing on the two tabs. The brush roll lifts out for easy cleaning. Remove the cap on the end of the brush roll. Clean off any hair or debris and use a pair of scissors to cut any fibers wrapped around the brush roll, or on the ends.
Replace the cap before inserting the brush roll. The main brush roll may require replacement every 6 to 12 months. The brush roll door also has a bristle strip that aids in fine dust removal on hard floors. The brush roll door should be replaced annually or when bristles are visibly worn.

During cleaning, dust may build up on the shark ion robot navigation and safety sensors. These include the front bumper sensors and the downward-facing cliff sensors. Turn off power before performing any maintenance. Clean these sensors frequently, wiping them with a clean, dry cloth.
