When it comes to electronic bidet toilet seats, TOTO is undoubtedly the leader in the field. The question that remains is which model among their product lines will give you the best bang for your buck while fitting your needs.
The Cadillac of the various washlet models is the S550E. It comes with all the bells and whistles you can imagine but costs significantly more than the rest of the models in TOTO’s offering. The K300 comes in at a close second but varies widely in price while missing a few of the premium features found in the S550E.
The real battle for your attention is between these two models if you are looking for a premium bidet.
On the other hand, those looking for an entry-level bidet should consider the features offered by the C2 and the C5 models.
Auto Open/Close Lid
Of the four models in our comparison, only the S550E comes with an auto open and close lid giving you unparalleled luxury as none of the other models have this feature. The S550 uses a proximity sensor to detect your arrival, raises the lid to welcome you, and closes itself when you leave. This model can also be programmed to raise the seat along with the lid.
Night Light
Along with the open and close lid, the night light is also the only feature that is found in the S550E. The other three bidets in comparison do not have a night light to welcome you when you arrive during the night. The night light softly illuminates your bathroom and precludes the need for harsh lighting that can take a toll on your eyes in the middle of the night.
Remote Control
Many of TOTO’s range of bidets come with a remote control unit. The top-of-the-line S550E certainly does, and so do the K300 and the C5. The C2 model, however, does not. Instead, it comes with a keypad that is attached to the side of the unit. The C5’s keypad can control all the functions that are included in the C5 and has the added advantage of not having to change batteries.

Heated Seat
Having a heated seat may not seem like a big deal, but in the dead of winter, it is one of those things that you’ll be glad you had especially during those late night visits. All four models come with heated seats. The only difference between the four is how many temperature settings you can set the seat to.
The S550E has five settings that allow you to set the seat to a temperature between 86 and 104°F. While the others only allow three variations.
Heated Water
All four models provide heated water to clean yourself, however, there is a slight difference. The top two models, the C550E and the K300 offer tankless heated water. This means that you have an unlimited supply of heated water. These two models use water directly from your plumbing and then pass them through a heated filament to heat it.
The C2 and C5 however use a different method. They have small tanks in the system that keeps water constantly heated. This means you have instant heated water when you need it, but that water will run out when the amount in the tank is depleted.
Deodorizer
Under the bidet, there is a replaceable cartridge containing activated charcoal. This mechanism absorbs all smells coming from the bowl and filters them, pumping out fresh air to eliminate bad odors.
All four bidets here come with the deodorizer.

Premist
All models come with a premist. Premist is a fine spray that spreads across the bowl before each use, effectively moisturizing the bowl’s surface. This prevents any waste from sticking to the surface during use.
E-Water
In addition to the common features found in all the bidets, the S550 and the C5 have an e-water+ system that the other two do not offer. Instead of using harsh chemicals and detergents, the S550E and C5 use electrolyzed water to sanitize the bowl after every use.
The electrolyzed water is better at killing odor-causing bacteria and harmful microbes that are found in the bowl’s ecosystem. Aside from cleaning the bowl, the ewater+ spray also cleans the nozzle.
Air Dryer
All models come with air dryers that totally eliminate the need for use of toilet paper. A gentle stream of air blows over the cleansed area after washing. This stream of air is heated in all models.

Memory Settings
The S550, the K300, and the C5 have dual memory settings. This means you and your partner can set the various parameters of the bidet, like water pressure and temperature, to individual preference and activate it easily. The C5 is the only one of the four models that do not have a memory setting.
