Today, we’re going to be looking at two popular upright vacuums: the Eureka NEU180B, and the Bissell Cleanview 1831.
The Eureka NEU180B
Let’s start off with the Eureka NEU180B. Now, Eureka has been in the business for a long time. They don’t just manufacture upright vacuums, but a significant percentage of their income does come from upright vacuums.
There is a good reason for this, too. Each upright vacuum they manufacture is exceptionally well made.

Along with that, since it is a bit smaller, in comparison to other models, it’s a lot easier to store.
When using the vacuum, you have five distinct settings. These settings enable you to clean different types of surfaces. Surfaces such as thick carpeting, hardwood floors, carpet flooring, etc.
All of the dirt, dust, and debris that you vacuum enters a simple and quick filtration system. Now, the actual filter is very easy to clean. Simply take it out of the vacuum, and wash it in the sink. Let it dry, and then put it back.
Once everything has been filtered, it enters the dust cup. For a smaller upright vacuum, the dust cup is very large. You have access to 2.6 liters of space in the dust cup. Emptying it is very simple. Press a button to detach it from the vacuum, and then walk over to your garbage bin to release the contents of the cup into the garbage.
Finally, the vacuum comes with some really nice accessories, too. A crevice tool, dusting brush, a tool for cleaning upholstery, and a hose that is extra long. Each accessory is great for when you have specific spaces that you just can’t clean with the main vacuum unit, so you need an extra hand.
Bissell Cleanview 1831
The Bissell Cleanview 1831 weighs just over 15 pounds, 5 pounds more than the Eureka NEU180B. So, while it is a bit bulkier, it is still very good, and a bit more powerful.
Using a technology known as “OnePass”, the vacuum handles very well. Now, OnePass enables the vacuum to easily remove things like dirt, dust, and debris that have been embedded into surfaces such as carpeting. It can remove these things in one pass, hence the name.
The suction system is multi-cyclonic, which is incredibly powerful. Without getting into the complicated specifics of how it actually works, it serves as a mechanism for efficiently sucking in all the particles that need to be cleaned, while preventing them from leaving the vacuuming or getting caught in other parts of the vacuum.
Using a multi-level filtration system, everything is quickly and efficiently disposed of, without any problems or difficulties. Just like the Eureka NEU180B, the filter can be washed in the sink.
Just like the Eureka NEU180B, you have five different adjustments that can be made in order to allow for multi-surface cleaning. You also have various accessories that make it easier to clean a variety of different surfaces and spaces that the regular vacuum can’t actually reach.
Unlike the Eureka NEU180B, you only have two-liters of space for the dust cup.
So, Which One Should I Buy?
In terms of overall convenience, the Eureka NEU180B is clearly the best choice. It weighs the least amount, has a variety of great accessories, comes with a big dust cup, and is generally a very well-made and efficient vacuum.
However, if you want power, then you must go with the Bissell Cleanview 1831, which is a lot more powerful and, in many ways, more effective at cleaning than the Eureka NEU180B.
