Ninja AF101 vs COSORI Air Fryer

An air fryer is a kitchen appliance that cooks food in a manner similar to a deep fat fryer, but without soaking it in oil; it is therefore a healthier option. Based on the principle of the older convection oven, the air fryer is a fairly recent invention, having only been in use since the early 2000’s.

There are a number of different air fryers currently on the market, let’s compare two of them, the Ninja AF101 and the Cosori Air Fryer.

Ninja is a cookware and kitchen appliance company that originated in Canada, but that has since become worldwide. Corsori is something of a mystery company, there is quite a bit about it online, but little about its history, how it was founded, etc. other than that it is California based.

What do people say on Social Media?

Corsori Air Fryer

Facebook: There are two Corsori air fryer groups on Facebook, “Corsori UK, Live Life Tastefully” and “Corsori Air Fryer Recipes + Tips” each with general discussions about recipes, and hints and tips on how to use the fryer. Most comments are positive.

Amazon: Most of the reviews on amazon are positive, and as this is a 220-volt appliance, quite a few of them are from the U.K. Customers there raved over it, described it as “Easy to use and to clean”, “Easy to master”, “Cooks according to package”, and “best thing EVER”.

Found only one negative U.K. review among dozens, customer Sean Buchanan, 23rd September 2022, writes that it was noisy, that he had to press start every time he put the basket back in, which he didn’t have to do with his previous fryer, and that the tray was harder to clean.

Could only find two U.S. reviews, one positive, “So easy to use”, and one negative, customer was disappointed because it took too long to cook steak and didn’t brown it.

You Tube: Good review on “TwoSleevers”, with a lot of detail about how the fryer works. In another video, Mr. Gizmo pointed out that the bottom of the basket warps with the heat, and he also remarked that at one point, a screw securing the handle to the basket came loose and fell into the food, which is worrying.

Ninja AF101

Facebook: The only group here is “Ninja Dual Ari Fryer Recipes & Chat UK”, but it is about the dual air fryer, not the AF101s air fryer.

Amazon: Again mostly positive reviews, this is a 110-volt appliance, so most of the reviews were from U.S. customers.

Went through eight pages of reviews on Amazon and only found one that was negative, Bob, writing on 19 May 2022, wrote that it does not have a “shake reminder”, (As does the Corsori). He reports that when opening the tray to flip food, the unit continues running, he also felt that the basket was too small, and there was no pause button, so settings could be lost.

You Tube has several videos, two of them are Revu2u, “Hot Product Alert! We Review the Ninja AF 101 Air Fryer!” And “Just A Dad Videos”.

Both of them give it positive reviews.

Conclusion

Both of these air fryers have had many good reviews, on Amazon, You Tube and on Facebook for the Corsori. Most of the Corsori reviews have come from the U.K.

The Corsori air fryer may need a voltage adaptor if bought in the U.S.

My own take on these is fryers is that I would consider buying one to cook chips, which I am very fond of, and vegan versions of meat or chicken recipes. (Using vegan substitutes). The cooking can be done more quickly than in an oven, and thus saves on electricity costs.

The Cosori has more features, and is more suitable for family or guest cooking, the smaller Ninja is more suitable for a single person.

Both fryers are reasonably priced.
