The Ninja OG701 woodfire outdoor grill is a portable electric grill that comes with everything you need to grill your favorite meat right out of the box. Included in the box, are the non-stick grill grate, the smoke box, the crisper basket, and two bags of woodfire pellets that are used to generate the smoke in the grill. It also comes with a pellet scoop.
Ninja OG701 Versatility
What we liked about the Ninja was its ability to achieve multiple outcomes. We were able to barbecue, roast, grill, air fry, and broil, chicken, beef, pork, fish, and hardy vegetables like corn, carrots, and potatoes. What was surprising though was the Ninja’s ability to dehydrate fruits, herbs, and vegetables.
Portability
The Ninja comes in two versions. One comes with a smart thermometer while the other doesn’t. We tested both. The whole thing weighs 30 pounds and measures almost 24x19x13 inches, giving you the portability you need if you wish to take it with you.
Weatherproof
It is also weatherproofed and comes with a weatherproof jacket so that you can leave it outside all year round, in any kind of weather. Having to grill or barbecue meat in the dead of winter is no longer a problem as it doesn’t take forever to set up and get going.
Effective
While evaluating the Ninja, we wanted to see if it behaved with the same efficacy as a charcoal grill in terms of flavor and through-and-through cooking. It did. We attribute a lot of this to the circulating air that distributed the heat and flavor evenly.
Heat and Searing
The searing is easily accomplished by the non-stick grill pan that heats up rapidly. The heating element inside provides constant heat, quickly and consistently. This reduced setup and waiting times, an especially convenient feature when choosing to barbecue or grill in the winter.
The effectiveness of the heat is also evidenced by the sear marks on the meat. Hot enough to sear, but not too hot to burn, resulting in delicious meats. But the thing that really provided the constant pleasure of using the Ninja was the smoke box.
Smokey Flavor
The smoke box allows a scoopful of natural hardwood pellets to be placed inside. They are not used to fuel the heat, but rather, are supposed to smolder and provide enough smokey flavor that is then swirled around the oven chamber to mix with the oils and moisture of whatever you are cooking and stick to its surface.

It all comes down to the overall design. From the heating element that rapidly gets up to cooking speed to the non-stick grill that diffuses the heat and the fan that distributes the heat effectively, the design takes the guesswork out of barbecuing, grilling, and broiling.
Being able to control that heat is how the same grill can go from broiling meat to dehydrating apples. One needs high moist heat, the other, low dry heat. The Ninja effortlessly does both. In testing this item, we also scoured social media and found that those who purchased this had no regrets even a year after their purchase.
